People seemed to like my False Idol series and False Idol I, in particular, so I wanted to broaden my market and make a smaller, less expensive version. I wanted to maintain some of the original plaque’s dimensionality, but I simplified it down to two layers and chose a more vibrant color scheme since this piece would already be at statement jewelry size.

False Idol Necklace was laser cut on multi-layered birch wood and hand painted with wood stain and acrylic paint. Pendant measured 4.15 in wide x 4.19 in tall x .25 in thick and hung on a 24 in decorative Malaysia Jade beaded chain.
